Santa Barbara Moving And Storage Company Tackles Child Hunger

Hazelwood Allied Moving and Storage helped to tackle child hunger this summer by donating $1,000 to The Santa Barbara Foodbank. This donation went towards feeding nearly 38,000 children healthy meals at free picnics across the county.

Santa Barbara Moving And Storage Company Tackles Child HungerIn a letter to Hazelwood Erin Talkin, Chief Executive of the Foodbank of Santa Barbara, said: “I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to you for your generous support of the Foodbank this yearThe $1,000 contribution from Hazelwood Moving and Storage during our End Summer Hunger campaign galvanized our work to transform the health of individuals in Santa Barbara County.”

The End Summer Hunger campaign was set up to make sure children are fed over the summer break, when they don’t have access to free or subsidized school meal assistance. Hazelwood’s donation helped the Foodbank’s volunteers serve over 38,000 free healthy lunches to children this summer during their Picnic in the Park outreach program. That’s over 6,000 more free meals than last year.

“Hazelwood is a family-run business and we love living and working in Santa Barbara,” says Casey McCann, owner of Hazelwood Allied Moving and Storage. “We’re passionate about making a positive contribution to our local community and what better way to do that than to help tackle child hunger?”
