Moving brokers, also known as move aggregators, are prevalent on the internet.  Many brokers claim they are located in the Santa Barbara area when in fact they are operating in a completely different state.

Here’s how they operate: the broker will receive a phone call and then parcel the job out to a mover who has never seen the residence or job site.  More often than not, the move estimates generated by brokers will double and triple in size.  Service is substandard and the broker is unaccountable.

Customers should always make sure that moving company operates with a physical office and is a member of the Better Business Bureau.  Ask to see the office for additional verification.  Don’t be fooled by brokers!

When I needed to hire a moving company to handle my sister’s estate, I was referred to Casey and Hazelwood by our amazing real estate broker, Jeff Oien … and what a great recommendation it was.  Hazelwood did an awesome job supporting us during a difficult time.  They packed the items being moved across country with great care.  All the members of the team were completely professional.  And the delivery, including unpacking, back in NY was flawless.  I highly recommend Hazelwood and Casey McCann.
